v9 Automated Backup enable setting wont save

Recommended Posts

Background:

Password state all in one (Web and DB on one server) Running server 2016

No Active Directory involved.

Upgraded from v8 to v9 which went through fine.

On v9 (9073)

I hit all the published backup issues around permissions, worked through them and got manual backups working

If i enable the "Enable Backups" checkbox, the save button and test permissions button no longer work.

Completed manual upgrade to v9 (9100)

Manual backups work fine, but for the life of me i can no longer get the test permissions button to work

Additionally, the save button will only work if the "enable checkbox" is unticked

There isn't much to see really, but attached

If i check the enable box, i can't click save

If i click test permissions, i get the pop up but then nothing in the box.

Same if i restart the whole server

I should mention that all was working ok under version 8, so its the changes that v9 has brought in that triggered this to break. (But understand the whole mechanism has changed)

Hello,

I think we've been able to reproduce what you are seeing.

On your password record, can you please check the following:

  • Enabled for Heartbeat is selected
  • Appropriate Account Type is selected (either Active Directory or Windows)
  • Appropriate Heartbeat PowerShell script is selected

Below are screenshots of these settings:

Hi Peter,

On your Backup Settings screen, if you have linked to a password record as per the instructions for our backup, it should show you the path of where this record is stored, under the Passwords tab.

FYI. Someone would have to have created this backup account for you, within a Password List.

I am aware however I seem unable to follow the instructions, as when I get to the said screen, I can't create the account so the account does not show, I maintain our system have done so for years with the exception of a crash last year, no issues.

The nice people at Passwordstate sent me a video, Configuring Backups in Passwordstate 9

So thanks to this I found my first issues, I do not have the built-in template required!
