Windows Defender detects a Trojan

Hi,

we currently installed Passwordstate V8.2 (Build 8256)  on a Windows Server 2016. Windows Defender quarantines passwordstate.exe because it is detected as Trojan:Wind32/Fuery.A!cl. However ESET doesn't find anything.

Cheers

Frank - I encountered the same thing just last week.  After some research, I learned that Windows Defender threw a false positive in this case, so I felt confident moving forward with the installation.

Hi Guys,

Yes, we can confirm this is a false positive - if you upload to www.virustotal.com, you will see it's clean - including for Windows Defender on this site. We do obfuscate one of our DLLs using some third party software, and Microsoft are reporting it as malware incorrectly.
