Missing abiltiy to create Discovery Jobs

I'm new to Password State.  I'm not the Administrator of the site, it's new to him also,  but I appear to be missing the ability to add Discovery Jobs.

What permission is needed to be able to add Discovery Jobs?  Asking for a friend.

Hi David,

 

You must have access to the main menu Tools -> Account Discovery, and you must have access to a least one Privileged Account Credential which can be used for the discovery.

We assume you've found all this though, as you've logged another forum post about the results of a Discovery Job.

Thanks for pointing me to the right link.  I was going nuts knowing I had done this before.

 

Why are there two locations for the same thing?  Seems like the drop down could be placed in both.

We provide this under the Administration area so Security Administrators, who might not have access to a Discovery Job, can make changes to settings or permissions on the Job i.e. if a user account is deleted from the system, then the Discovery Job will exist, but no users will have access to it to manage it.
