Hello,

Im currently trying to configure an email notification group, outside of creating the group. Where do you edit/add people or passwords to it?  I must be missing the purpose of that section, because security groups and administrators make sense. But what exactly do you do with email notification group?  Basically im trying to create an email notification group for when certain access requests are triggered to email specific people.

Thanks

Hi Scoot,

Email Notification groups are designed so you can control which emails are sent out to users, and you can use the actions menu of the notification group to disable or enable email notifications, and also this is where you apply permissions for users.  Here is a screenshot of this Actions Menu:

Okay, that makes sense. So there arent permissions set really. Everyone is an admin, but i want to change the email notifications from emailing all the admins for the password list to emailing the email notification group.  Do i change everyone to modify in order for them to not get the emails?

Hi Scoot15638,

We're sorry but we do not understand what you are saying. Can you please try what we've suggested above and let us know if it helps. Basically when you create an Email Notification Group, block certain email notifications, and then apply permissions for which users the Email Notification Group should be active for, then those users should not received those blocked emails>

Hi Scoot,

It sort of works in reverse to how you are thinking.  By default, all users will get email notifications, and you use the Email Notification Groups to block certain users from receiving certain Email Notifications.

If you create an email notification group, disable all email templates, and apply it to all users you do not want to receive emails (like your password list administrators for example), then they will never receive those emails.

Hopefully this is a workaround for what you need?
