Unexpected Error trying to open the exported passwords zip file.

Issue:

If you export passwords from a password list, from the Administration -> Export all Passwords menu, or exporting the Encryptions Keys from the Admin area, this will export them to a password protected ZIP file.  You may see an unexpected error when trying to open the zip file, and you do not get the opportunity to open the file:

 

 

Fix:

Prior to build 8968 of Passwordstate, the built in Windows compression software cannot extract password protected zip files, using the code we were using.  If you run into this error, you will be able to open this file using something like 7zip or Winzip.

 

If you can upgrade to the latest build, all future zip files you export that are password protected will open natively with the built in Windows compression software.
